What is Holistic Nutrition?
Holistic is a wonderful word. It takes all things into consideration when looking at one thing. It tells us that all the separate parts of one thing are all related and if one part is off, others are too. What this means in the body is that if a person is showing physical symptoms, these can be related to a spiritual imbalance or an emotional issue. There is a mind-body-spirit connection in all of us.
Living holistically means examining all the parts of your life and seeing how they come together to form you, and on a larger scale, how you exist in the world.
Take the person who is running around all the time either for themselves or others. They have little time for rest let alone cooking and eating in a calm environment. If at the same time they are having digestive issues, when you look at the body as a whole, these two are linked.
To try to aid the digestive system without looking at all aspects of one’s life will not be the best method for long term health and wellbeing.
Holistic nutrition looks at your body, mind, and spirit to see where connections may be and then we formulate methods to aid in the body’s own natural processes to bring balance back to your life. It is about looking deeper and helping the whole person.
I love holistic nutrition because, while it may seem complicated, it can be as simple as you want it to be. I have learned so much about myself and life since beginning this process, and I am excited to share.
